Investigating Possibilities of Developing Self-Directed Learning in Architecture Students Using Design Thinking

Education systems are struggling to effectively integrate in their study programs the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which define challenges we need overcome as a society 21st century. This revealed special agency that architecture and built environment have shaping our social, economic, natural using system design thinking. Despite several studies on metacognitive process, cognitive traps still exist when developing thinking education. investigated self-directed learning undergraduate students. Responses collected from sample of 117 undergraduates were subjected bootstrapping structural equation modelling find significant relationships reversed action is used for learning. The findings suggest strongly connected with learning, shown resulting model, all components explained by variables. can provide insights curriculum designers educators how shape effective processes education existing shortcomings while improving interpersonal skills, creativity digital make pedagogical changes, enhance redesign outcomes towards sustainable architecture.
